A brief overview of some of the critical issues surrounding the Pentateuch will be entertained. The course explores the content and major themes with attention paid to the Pentateuch's relationship to the full corpus of the Bible.

This course helps the student to understand how the commitment to intentional spiritual disciplines, or the lack thereof, can enhance or detract from their spiritual growth and ability to walk in the power that Christ has given to the Church. It will look at how Christians have historically enhanced their spiritual lives through monastic movements and spiritual practices of meditation on scripture, prayer, participation in retreats, etc.
